The Community and Race Relations Committee of Peterborough (CRRC) is now accepting nominations for the Larry Fine Leadership Award.
Larry Fine, of Peterborough, was interested in promoting citizenship and community health. He bequeathed money to the CRRC to promote education and awareness of the value of cultural diversity.

The achievement award is offered in recognition of Larry Fine's sense of community. The award consists of a Wall Plaque with citation, which is located in the CRRC office, as well as a Personalized Certificate with citation, presented to the recipient on the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, March 21.

The criteria for selecting the award winner are:
- Student attending Secondary, College or University, who as an active and participatory member of the community, has made a significant and identifiable contribution to valuing diversity and achieving equality
- Initiated or contributed to programs or initiatives that support equity for all persons
- Exemplifies and promotes collaboration and community-oriented leadership

The selection committee is composed of one CRRC Board Member and three members of the Peterborough Community.
The nomination procedure consists of a letter of Nomination that shall include:
- Rationale describing the outstanding and tangible contribution of the nominee towards valuing diversity and achieving equality
- Concise description of the activities of the nominee
- Signatures of not fewer than three nominators
