About the Community and Race Relations Committee of Peterborough

The aim of the Community and Race Relations Committee of Peterborough (CRRC) is to promote positive race relations in Peterborough.

Our goals are:

To promote and implement strategies to encourage positive race relations within the community
To encourage positive race relations through strong partnerships with other agencies and interest groups
To promote increased community understanding of the benefits of racial diversity and the root causes & consequences of racism
To investigate or cause to be investigated incidents of racism, and take an active role in supporting the resolution of conflict of a racial nature

CRRC currently plans to focus the organisation in three main areas to achieve these goals:

Education - Provide anti-racism education to agencies, institutions, and other community sectors
Consultation - Provide information and referral on racial issues, and conflict resolution/mediation when appropriate
Capacity Building - To ensure the agency has the resources to carry out its mandate
