Community and Race Relations Committee of Peterborough



The aim of the Community and Race Relations Committee of Peterborough (CRRC) is to promote positive race relations in Peterborough.
Our goals are:
  • To promote and implement strategies to encourage positive race relations within the community
  • To encourage positive race relations through strong partnerships with other agencies and interest groups
  • To promote increased community understanding of the benefits of racial diversity and the root causes & consequences of racism
  • To investigate or cause to be investigated incidents of racism, and take an active role in supporting the resolution of conflict of a racial nature

CRRC currently plans to focus the organisation in three main areas to achieve these goals:

  • Education - Provide anti-racism education to agencies, institutions, and other community sectors
  • Consultation - Provide information and referral on racial issues, and conflict resolution/mediation when appropriate
  • Capacity Building - To ensure the agency has the resources to carry out its mandate
